LesTur project team hosted by InnoRenew CoE

Dr. Andreja Kutnar, InnoRenew CoE director, welcomed students and professors from the Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica and the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies involved in the project Wood in Tourism: Potentials of Wood as a Sustainable Material for Sustainable Tourism (LesTur), and tourism industry representatives.

Dr. Kutnar presented the institute and guided them through the premises and research laboratories and thus enabled an insight into their work. They learnt about some of the best practices in using wood to create living environments that are friendly to human health and well-being. After that they discussed the work of the project and further activities planned.

In the LesTur project, students from both faculties are analysing the use of wood in tourism and studying the potential of using wood as a sustainable material for more sustainable tourism in Portorož. The results of the project will be presented at the exhibition "Wood in Portorož Tourism - Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow".
